Friends, this is very cool. It was awesome to sit in our new church, even if just for a Sunday, and see chairs and altar and piano. It was awesome. What a blessing.

Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 10:54PM Pastor Jim was asked to do a blessing at the Grand Opening of the new Hostel in town. Candles were lit. Prayers were offered. Food was served. Ice cream was eaten. And the bands played. It was a good evening.

Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 04:55PM This Sunday we're planning to have a trial run at worship in our new space, with the hopes of getting our folks excited about what worship will look like when we're in the space fulltime. We had to move scaffolding and clean chairs and move a lot of lumber out of the way so the space will be safe for the congregation.

Zeb Manning's team from Ellisville, Mississippi leaves tomorrow to see Denali. This is the last day that they'll be working and I think it's their 5th trip to work at Girdwood Chapel. We are very grateful for their efforts and I've enjoyed my time with them when I've travelled to Mississippi.
Mike Sahler's team from Raymond, MS left yesterday. The two teams paired up rather nicely and we got a lot of work done...particularly the back wall of the Narthex that needed some correction due to a foundation error.
Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11:32AM We're meeting here for a few weeks as our parking lot is tough to drive on after sewer installation. It's a nice room and, for a sermon on "The Bread of Life" I was able to use the oven and get the whole place smelling like fresh-baked bread. Oh, and it also has a couple of bathrooms!
